Mike Kim – “Escaping North Korea”

    Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Mike Kim is a friend of mine from college and he recently wrote a book, “Escaping North Korea” dealing with refugees in North Korea.  He has done number of speaking engagements and interviews with famous journalists, putting a light onto the subject of what’s going on in North Korea.  I have attended two of his speaking engagements in New York and one in Orange County, CA.  I took these photos during those events and posted entries on our (Julie’s and my) blog, Raw Fish Creative.  The entries are titled My people crossing the border, those without a voice, and “Escaping North Korea” in Orange County.  Please take a look for more descriptions of the events and extended versions of my photos.

    Kara Grace Yoon

    Monday, June 1st, 2009

Kara Grace Yoon is the daughter of my brother Joel and Sharon.  That’s right, she’s my niece and the first baby from my immediate family.  I’m biased but she is THE CUTEST baby I have laid my eyes on.  And from these photos, it’s hard to argue. =)  It is the first time when I missed living next to my family because I would want to see her grow up and one day be best friends with our future kids.

I had the chance to take these photos when Julie and I visited them in St. Louis.  I believe Kara was a month old.  She is a precious child of God and I know He has a bright future for her.
